Kentucky Horse Park presents “The Southern Lights Stroll”

The Southern Lights Stroll, where the public has the opportunity to run, walk or stroll a 5K through thousands of dazzling holiday lights, is scheduled at the Kentucky Horse Park for Thursday, Nov. 19.

Additional activities include mini train express rides, refreshments, prize drawings and a food drive for God’s Pantry Food Bank. All participants are asked to bring non-perishable items to help local families. Proceeds from the Stroll support the Kentucky Horse Park Foundation.

This year’s stroll will feature chip timing for the competitive 5K race, and awards will be given to winners in various age categories.

Registration for the competitive 5K race is $30 for adults and $15 for children (ages 7-12) and will begin at 6:30 p.m. The stroll/walk is $25 for adults and $10 for children and will begin at 6:35. Children under 6 are free. Check-in is at the park’s Visitor Center.

The first 1,000 registered adults will receive a free souvenir T-shirt, and the first 350 registered children receive a free holiday souvenir (for children to receive a T-shirt, they must register as an adult).
