Caregivers Rank Hospice of the Bluegrass as One of Nation’s Best
Hospice of the Bluegrass was named a 2016 Hospice Honors recipient at the National Hospice and Palliative Care Organization’s Management and Leadership Conference in National Harbor, Maryland.
Hospice Honors is a prestigious program that recognizes hospices that provide the highest level of quality as measured from the caregiver’s point of view.
The award is sponsored by HealthcareFirst and Deyta Analytics
Award criteria were based on survey results received from caregivers. Award recipients were identified by evaluating hospices’ performance on a set of 24 quality indicator measures.
“Being recognized by family members is the highest honor we can receive,” said Liz Fowler, Hospice of the Bluegrass President and CEO.
Fowler credits the expertise, experience and compassion of Hospice’s team of doctors, nurses, chaplains, social workers, aides and volunteers for the recognition.
“If you have ever had the help of a really great hospice team, it is life changing,” she said.
“That is what our families tell us. We are proud to be one of the best hospices in the country. Our patients and families deserve it!
“Many caregivers tell us their biggest regret is not calling sooner.”
