Volunteers Needed for Lexington Public Library’s Homework Help
The Homework Help Program at the Lexington Public Library is seeking volunteers at the Village and Northside branches.
Homework Help is offered from 4:30-7 p.m. every Monday-Thursday that Fayette County Schools are in session. The Village Branch begins offering Homework Help on Wednesday, Aug. 10. The Northside Branch will begin on Monday, Sept. 19.
To keep the program going at one branch requires recruiting 60 to 80 volunteers each fall and 40 to 60 volunteers each spring, said Vicki Hale, volunteer coordinator at the Village Branch.
Adults interested in volunteering should contact the library at rcallen@lexpublib.org.
The Village and Northside branches will also be adding the Kids Café program by God’s Pantry to provide snacks prior to Homework Help sessions. Snacks will be served from 3:30 – 4:30 p.m.
