Splash Into Pool Season On May 27

Pool season kicks off with the annual Poolapalooza event in Lexington on Saturday, May 27. Admission is free to the Southland Aquatic Center from noon-4 p.m. that day.

Also opening on Saturday, May 27 are Castlewood, Tates Creek and Woodland aquatic centers.

Regular hours of operation for those pools are Monday-Saturday, 10 a.m.-8 p.m., and Sunday, noon-8 p.m.

Douglass, Picadome and Shillito neighborhood pools open on Saturday, June 3.

Hours for Douglass and Picadome pools are Monday-Saturday, noon-6 p.m., and Sunday, 1-6 p.m.

Shillito pool is open Monday-Saturday, 10 a.m.-8 p.m., and Sunday, noon-8 p.m.

Pool passes are available online at www.lexingtonky.gov/pool-passes through May 21.

Pool passes can be purchased at any aquatic center beginning May 27. Individual passes are $40.

Family passes of up to six people in a household are $200. Pool passes can be used at all seven pools for the duration of pool season.

General admission to the aquatic centers is $5 for adults and $4 for ages 15 & under.

Admission to neighborhood pools is $4 for adults and $3 for ages 15 & under.
