‘Fancy Nancy the Musical’ at Derby Dinner Playhouse

Derby Dinner Playhouse will open “Fancy Nancy the Musical” on June 3 as part of the Children’s Musical Theatre Series for the theater outside of Louisville.

From the top of her tiara down to her sparkly shoes, Nancy is ready to take the spotlight in her first dance recital. But when someone else gets picked to be the prima ballerina, Nancy is stuck playing a dreary, dull tree. Can she still bring fancy flair to her role when it isn’t the one she wanted?

Adapted from the bestselling books, “Fancy Nancy the Musical” is a funny, frilly ballet story with a lot of heart.

“Fancy Nancy the Musical” is based on the book series by Jane O’Connor and Robin Preiss Glasser.

All public performances of “Fancy Nancy the Musical” are on Saturdays with breakfast at 9 a.m. and lunch at noon. Public performances run June 3, 10, 17, 24, July 1, 8. An evening performance has been added on Monday, June 12 at 5:45 p.m.

All performances feature a kid friendly menu. This production is most suitable for ages 3-12.
