NEA grants $10,000 to Lexington Children’s Theatre for Traveling Performances

Approximately 10,000 young people throughout Kentucky will have the chance to see Lexington Children’s Theatre perform  a special traveling production thanks to a $10,000 grant from the National Endowment for the Arts.

LCT received the grant in the Art Works category, which invests in local communities to help people celebrate the arts wherever they are. The grant is part of more than $80 million from the NEA to strengthen public engagement with the arts.

LCT will bring its performance of “The Snowy Day and Other Stories by Ezra Jack Keats” to Lexington in November 2018, and then to three regional performing arts center in Frankfort, Morehead and Hazard.

The production is based on the groundbreaking picture book and will introduce the story to students who may be seeing their first live theatrical performance.
