Alzheimer’s Event Set for Dec. 21
Lexington area residents will light up the night to end Alzheimer’s disease next Friday, Dec. 21 at Thoroughbred Park in downtown Lexington at 7 p.m.
With 16 hours of darkness, it is the longest night of the year and may seem endless – much like the journeys of those affected by Alzheimer’s and dementia. On The Longest Night, the Alzheimer’s Association invites the community to attend the event and light a Candle of Hope for all those facing Alzheimer’s.
The Longest Night is in preparation for The Longest Day, a signature event for the Alzheimer’s Association held on June 21, the summer solstice. Teams across the globe raise funds and awareness to advance Alzheimer’s care, support and research programs.
