FCPS Superintendent Gives 2019 State of the Schools Address
Superintendent Manny Caulk of Fayette County Public Schools delivered the 2019 State of the Schools to a supportive crowd at the Lexington Convention Center, saying, “Every child born represents a promise – a promise to love, to protect, to guide, to nurture, to teach. Every person in this room is a promise keeper. You play a vital role in making the American dream come true for every student. The path to the American dream runs through the doors of our schools.”
Presenting sponsor of the Aug. 7 breakfast program was again the Lexington-Bluegrass Association of REALTORS, and CEO Justin Landon welcomed the hundreds of educators, business leaders, community and state officials, and others eager to hear highlights of the school district’s 2018-19 Annual Report.
In a wide-ranging address, Caulk touched on specific accomplishments and new initiatives aimed at solidifying the district’s prominence in Kentucky and in national circles. He also commended the latest group of Golden Apple Award winners, noting, “These individuals and organizations are a shining example of the kinds of partnerships that make a difference in the lives of our students.”
Caulk is the Kentucky Association for School Administrators’ 2019 Superintendent of the Year. He presented the inaugural Superintendent’s Scholarship, which went to a recent graduate of Paul Laurence Dunbar High School.
In closing, Caulk thanked FCPS employees and the community for their continued support of the district and reminded them, “In just a few days, we’ll welcome the Class of 2032, and that will begin a new promise.”
