Rock Out With Build Inclusion at Inclusion Palooza

Build Inclusion, a Central Kentucky nonprofit that works to improve access and opportunity for people with disabilities, is hosting the second annual Inclusion Palooza on Saturday, April 27, 2-7 p.m. at MoonDance Amphitheater at 1152 Monarch St.

Inclusion Palooza celebrates community through the universal language of music and advocacy, and highlights the contributions that individuals with disabilities make in our community.

This inclusive event is co-hosted by Lexington Parks and Recreation with presenting sponsor, Lifeplan of Kentucky.

Bands at Inclusion Palooza will include:

  • Joslyn & The Sweet Compression, a funk and soul group
  • Baja Yetis, a funk, jazz, psychedelic band
  • Tripp Bratton, a West African, Caribbean, and Latin percussionist
  • Mojo Tones, a blues/rock band
  • Metric Soul, a prog-groove power trio
  • Little Dub, a new group with reggae, and funk sounds

Inclusion Palooza will also include food and drink vendors, exhibitors and a schedule of family-friendly events.

Build Inclusion works to help people with disabilities in the areas of education, employment and independent living.

“Too often disability gets left out of the conversation when talking about diversity and inclusion,” Build Inclusion Board Chair Keith Hosey said.

“Inclusion Palooza opens up the conversation by bringing the whole community together in the same place to celebrate both our similarities and our differences.”
