summer camp & activities fair
For more than 17 years, Lexington Family Magazine’s Summer Camps & Activities Fair has been the go-to place for parents planning a summer of fun. The 2020 Camp Fair is scheduled for Saturday, April 18, 10 a.m.-2 p.m., at Lexington Christian Academy (450 W. Reynolds Road) and hosts booths by summer camps, enrichment classes, afterschool activities, tutoring centers, healthcare professionals, childcare facilities, restaurants, private schools and more.
Whether your child is into sports, dance, music, theater, art, academics or adventures, you will find options for all of those at the Camp Fair. We also have live performances by talented kids, inflatables, face painting, hands-on activities, crafts and giveaways galore.

kidchella arts & music festival
Lexington Family Magazine hosts KidChella, Lexington’s kid-centric music festival, on a Saturday in September. This festival is a partnership with Lexington Parks & Recreation to help fund future family events for the community.
KidChella is a family fun day full of hands-on art projects and performances by regional and local musicians. Past performers include Grammy-nominated performer Zak Morgan, Appalachian folk musicians Julia Purcell & Randy Wilson, Sarah Smitha of Sarah Sings to Kids, and The Stereos, The Originals and Mayor of Lexington’s Rock School.
The event is held at the Moondance Amphitheater in Beaumont Center. Check back with LexingtonFamily.Com for the 2020 KidChella date.

Family favorites
A “Family Favorite Award” from Lexington Family Magazine is a seal of approval by hundreds of Central Kentucky parents. This annual contest runs from June 1-Aug. 15, when readers first nominate, then vote on what businesses deserve the title of a “Family Favorite.”

Christmas is a time for giving, and that’s exactly what we every December at Lexington Family Magazine. Our annual “12 Days of Giveaways” draws hundreds of responses by our readers as we host a daily giveaway through our social media pages.
