The incidence of myopia (nearsightedness) has risen so dramatically in our advanced culture in part, because, “We were made to be buffalo hunters, not computer operators.”
“No way,” Mike Ward said about eye surgery for his daughter. “Dr. Graebe is adamantly opposed to that and I agree with his philosophy.”
Dr. Rick Graebe can say it no more directly – “Almost all eye muscle surgeries are unnecessary.”
That’s quite a statement considering that each year approximately 1.2 million are performed in the U.S. at a cost of up to $12,000 per surgery.
Eleven years ago, Kentucky became the first state in the country to mandate that children aged 3-6 years old have eye exams before enrolling in school.
As adults, we take our eyesight for granted. We forget that we once had to learn how to see. It may seem automatic, but if the visual system does not develop correctly, serious problems can occur.
